Goods were manufactured; and no Profecution shall be commenced against any Perfon or Perfons for having in their Cuftody and Poffeffion any fuch unstamped Goods, between the faid First Day of July, and the First Day of Auguft, One thousand feven hundred and fixty-feven; any Thing in this or any other Act of Parliament to the contrary notwithstanding.

21. AND be it further enacted by the Forfeitures in Authority aforefaid, That all fuch Goods general, where which fhall be feized and condemned in pursuance of this Act, and all Penalties where to be and Forfeitures whatfoever by this Act inflicted, (unless otherwife directed to be condemned and recovered by this Act), fhall and may be fued for, profecuted, and recovered, in any of his Majesty's Courts of Record at Weftminster, or in the Court of Exchequer in Scotland, by Action of Debt, Bill, Plaint, or Information, in the Name of his Majefty's Attorney-General, or in the Name or Names of fuch Supervifor, or other Officer or Officers of the Excife or Cuftoms as aforefaid; and Produce from that one Moiety of the clear Produce ariter all Char- fing from the Sale of all fuch Goods, and of all the Penalties and Forfeitures inflicted by this Act, after all Charges deducted, thall be to his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, and the other Moiety thereof

$22. 23. AND be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Action or Suit fhall be commenced against any Perfon or Perfons for any Thing done in Pursuance of this Act, the Defendant or Defendants in fuch Action or Suit, fhall F-f2 and

Preamble. §1. WHEREAS the Confumption of Li

nens within Great Britain, and the British Dominions in America, is greatly increased: And whereas the establishing a proper Fund for the Encouragement of raising and dreffing of Hemp and Flax, would be a great Advantage to the Linen Manufactures within this Kingdom; Therefore we your Majefty's most Dutiful and Loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament affembled, do give and grant to your Majefty, your Heirs and Succeffors, fuch additional Duties on foreign Linens to be imported into Great Britain, as are herein after mentioned ;
