BEGUN and held at Madison, W. T., on Monday, the fifth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-two, in conformity with the provisions of the act entitled "an act relative to the sessions of the legislative assembly;" being the first session of the fourth legislative assembly.

At twelve o'clock, M., the roll was called by the secretary, when the following members, who had presented certificates of election, appeared and took their seats, viz:

A quorum being present,
