ASCOT HEATH, 1847,

Will commence on Tuesday the 1st of June.

The Trustees of the Grand Stand give notice, that no person notoriously in default in respect to stakes, forfeits, or bets upon horse-racing, or guilty of any fraudulent practices on the turf, or in matters connected with it, will be admitted within the Grand Stand during any meeting on Ascot Heath; and if any such person should gain admittance, he will be expelled therefrom upon his presence being pointed out to the Master of the Buckhounds, or the Clerk of the Course, unless he can produce satisfactory proof that he is no longer a defaulter in respect to stakes, forfeits, or bets upon horseracing.

No person in arrear of stakes or forfeits due on races at Ascot or elsewhere, and no person being notoriously a defaulter in respect to bets lost upon horse-racing, or guilty of any fraudulent practices on the turf, or in matters connected with it, will be permitted to name, enter, or run, either in his own name or in that of any other person, any horse of which he is either in whole or in part owner, for any plate, cup, match, or sweepstakes at any meeting upon Ascot Heath; and in order to prevent such persons from evading this regulation, the Master of her Majesty's Buckhounds, or any one of the Stewards of the Jockey Club, whenever there shall be reason to suspect that an evasion of this rule is intended, will call upon the nominator to produce satisfactory testimony that the horse named is not the property, in whole or in part, of any person in default in respect to stakes, forfeits, or bets upon horse-racing, or guilty of any fraudulent practices on the turf, or in matters connected with it; and if the nominator shall refuse, or fail to produce, such satisfactory testimony, then the Master of the Buckhounds or Steward of the Jockey Club shall cause the nomination to be erased.
