Senator Bruce offered the following amendment and moved. its adoption:

Strike out the word "sixteen" and insert the word "fourteen" in the last paragraph of section two.

Senator Bruce offered the following amendment and moved its adoption:

Amend by inserting or on any farm" after the word 'employed" in the third line of section one; also by inserting "or on any farm" after the word 'employed" in the fourth line of the last paragraph of section two.

Senator Lewis moved that when the Senate adjourn today it be until tomorrow at 10 o'clock A. M.

Senator Hughes moved to amend the motion so that it shall read, that when the Senate adjourn today, it shall be until 9:30 o'clock A. M., Thursday.

Carried.

The motion as amended prevailed.

Senator Wilson asked unanimous 'consent that the time of adjournment be extended until the bill under consideration be disposed of.

Consent granted.

Senator Wilson of Clinton moved the previous question on the amendment and the bill.

Carried.

The previous question on the amendment and the bill was ordered.

Senator Dowell moved that the rule be suspended, and that the bill be read a third time now, which motion prevailed, and the bill was read a third time.

So the bill having received a constitutional majority was declared to have passed the Senate and its title agreed to.

Senator Dowell moved to reconsider the vote by which Senate file No. 74 passed, and that the motion to reconsider be laid upon the table.

Carried.'

The Journal of yesterday was taken up, corrected and approved.
