O F

CHRISTIANITY:

O R,

A plain Demonstration, that the in-
duing Men with inward, real Righ-
teousness (or true Holiness) was the
ultimate End of our SAVIOUR'S
coming into the World; and is the
great Intention of his bleffed Gospel.

By EDWARD FOWLER, A. M.
Rector of North-bill in Bedfordshire; and afterwards Lord Bishop
of Gloucefter.

He that followeth me fhall not walk in Darkness.

BOOKSELLER,

On the Republication of

Bishop FOWLER's

DESIGN OF CHRISTIANITY.

SIR,

Y

OU are now, as I am informed, reprinting that inestimable Book, Bishop Fowler's

Defign of Chriftianity. I have particular, and very strong Reafons, to believe, that your principal Inducement to this, has not been any lucrative or felfish View: but the full Perfuafic n of your own Mind, and the Teftimony of Perfons in whose Integrity and Judgment you dare confide, concerning the Piety and Learning of the Author; the Excellence of the Work itself; its Importance to every Christian; and the particular Want of it in the Age wherein we live. Give me Leave therefore to congratulate you, as the happy Inftrument in a Republication, which, by the Bleffing of God may prove of very great and general Ufe; and which feems to have taken its Rife from Motives fimilar to thofe which firft gave Birth to the Treatise itself.
