THE EXCELLENCY OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES.
PSALM XIX. 7-10.
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the
testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the
eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for
ever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous
altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea,
than much fine gold ; sweeter also than honey and the
honey-comb.

THE CROSS OF CHRIST THE DISPLAY OF THE DIVINE
GLORY
1 CORINTHIANS, 1, 22-24.
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after
wisdom. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews
a stumbling-block, und unto the Greeks foolishness; but
unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

TRUE REPENTANCE.
ZECHARIAH, XII. 10.
And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of
supplications; and they shall look upon me whom they
have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one
mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for
him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born.

ETERNAL LIFE THE GIFT OF GOD IN JESUS CHTIST,
I JOHN, v, 11, 12.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life; and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son
hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God, hatla
not life.

THE GRACE OF GOD IN PARDONING SIN,
MICAH, VII. 18–20.
Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity and
passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heri-
tage? He retaineth not his anger for ever, because he
delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have
compussion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and
thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy
to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers
from the days of old.
