Observe, from this calendar it appears, tl is a wonderful difference between the earli nomena of the spring in Sweden and in E no less than 78 days in the flowering of the drop, 61 days in the appearance of the W 62 days in the bloom of the Lilac, 43 days leafing of the Oak, 40 days in the blooming Cherry-tree, 36 days in the singing of the 1 ingale, 33 in the return of the Swallow, 25 i of the Cuckoo, and so on. Yet the summer f nearly keep time alike in both climates. Th vest differs not a fortnight; some of the fruit 9 days. Nay, Strawberries come earlier the 13 days than with us. The Swallow stays us only 4 days longer than with them. And Ash tree begins to lose its leaves within 3 da the same time. These differences and these formities I know not how to account for.

Mr. Stillingfleet's calendar goes no farther October 26. But I observed that on Decemb many of our Rose-trees had put out new lea and the Lauristine, Polyanthus, single yellow, bloody Wall-flowers, Cytisus, and scarlet Ger ums were still in flower.

I HAVE been very naughty, I confess; but I formed your brother, a good while ago, that bo your letters came safe to my hands.
