Of the funds furnished by the State Comptroller, as stated above, of $126,536.71 there was received and disbursed by the treasurer $117,383.47, whilst $9,153.24 was paid direct to contractors by the State Comptroller.

The total expenditures incurred under special appropriations from September 11, 1909 to June 30, 1917 amounted to $900,319.79. Of this amount $7,935.15 was applied to make up a deficiency in the cost of administration. The balance of $957,384.64 is made up as follows: State of New York - Special Fund (Exhibit A). $938,956 23 Vouchers payable — Special Fund (Exhibit A)..

Cost of properties to June 30, 1917 (Exhibit B). $957,384 64

As heretofore we have made no investigation as to the propriety of the distribution of expenditures, since these have been passed. upon by the fiscal supervisor of State Charities. We have; however, compared the duplicates of the treasurer's monthly reports to the fiscal supervisor with the books and find the statement of general expenditures to be in agreement therewith.

As a result of our examination we find that, subject to the foregoing remarks, and within the limitations of the existing system of accounting in regard to the operations, the funds of the Village have been properly accounted for for the riscal year.

Yours very truly,

PRICE, WATERHOUSE & CO.
