3 Impress upon my wand'ring heart,

The love that Christ to sinners bore; Then mourn the wounds my sins produc'd,

And my redeeming God adore.

THE TRINITY. 503. A Song of Praise to the ever blessed Trinit

(L. .) 1 PLESS'D be the Father and his love,

D To whose celestial source we owe Rivers of endless joy above,

And rills of comfort here below.
2 Glory to thee, great Son of God,

From whose dear wounded body rolls,
A precious stream of vital blood,

Pardon and life for dying souls.
3 We give thee, Sacred Spirit, praise,

Who in our hearts of sin and woe,
Makes living springs of grace arise,

And into boundless glory flow.
4 Thus God the Father, God the Son,

And God the Spirit, we adore;
That sea of life and love unknown,

Without a bottom or a shore.
504. The same. (P.M.)
1 W E give immortal praise,

To God the Father's love,
For all our comforts here,

And better hopes above;
He sent his own eternal Son,

To die for sins that man had done. e for rot eib

2 To God the Son belongs

Immortal glory too,
Who bought us with his blood

From everlasting woe:
And now he lives, and now he reigns,

And sees the fruit of all his pains. 3 To God the Spirits name

Immortal worship give,
Whose new-creating power

Makes the dead sinner live:
His work completes the great design,
And fills the soul with joy divine.

Almighty God, to Thee,
Be endless honours done,
The undivided Three,

And the mysterious One:
Where reason fails with all her powers,
There faith prevails, and love adores.

THE God of Abr' ham praise,

1 Who reigns entbron'd above ; Ancient of everlasting days,

And God of love:
Jehovah, GREAT I AM!

By earth and heaven confess'd ;
I bow, and bless the sacred name,

For ever bless'd.
The God of Abr' ham praise,
At whose supreme command,
From earth I rise--and seek the joys

At his right hand :

I all on earth forsake, da b o

Its wisdom, fame, and power; And him my only portion make,

My shield and tower.
3 The God of Abr’ham praise,

Whose all-sufficient grace
Shall guide me, all my happy days,

In all his ways:
He calls a worm his friend! NW

He calls himself my God!
And he shall save me to the end,
Through Jesu's blood. A

PAUSE.
4 The God who reigns on high,

The mighty angels sing ; E N
And “ Holy, holy, holy,” cry,

“ Almighty King!
" Who was, and is, the same;

“ And evermore shall be ; “ Jehovah, Father, GREAT I AM,

“We worship thee."
5 Before the Saviour's face,

The ransom'd nations bow;
O’erwhelm’d at his almighty grace,

For ever new :
He shows his prints of love;

They kindle to a flame!
And sound through all the worlds above,

“ The slaughter'd Lamb." 6 The whole triumphant host SONT

Give thanks to God on high ; “ Hail, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!

They ever cry:

Hail, Abr’ham's God and mine!

I join the heavenly lays;
All might and majesty are thine,

And endless praise.

A Hymn to the Trinity. (P. M.)
NOME, thou Almighty King,
U Help us thy name to sing,

Help us to praise !
Father all-glorious,
O'er all victorious ;
Come, and reign over us,

Ancient of Days!
Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies,

And make them fall!
Let thine almighty aid,
Our sure defence be made,
Our souls on thee be stay’d;

Lord, hear our call !
Come, thou Incarnate Word,
Gird on thy mighty sword ;--

Our prayer attend !
Come, and thy people bless,
And give thy word success;
Spirit of holiness,

On us descend !
Come, Holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear,

In this glad hour!
Thou who almighty art,
Now rule in every heart,
And ne'er from us depart,
Spirit of power!

507. Instruction from Scripture. (C. M.)
1 LTOW shall we, Lord, secure our heart

11 And guard our lives from sin ?
Thy word the choicest rules imparts,

To keep the conscience clean.
2 When once it enters to the mind,

It spreads such light abroad,
The meanest souls instruction find,

And raise their thoughts to God.
3 'Tis like the sun, a heav'nly light,

That guides us all the day;
And through the dangers of the night,

A lamp to lead our way.
4 The men that keep thy law with care,

And meditate thy word,
Grow wiser than their teachers are,

And better know the Lord.
5 Thy precepts make me truly wise;

I hate the sinner's road;
I hate my own vain thoughts that rise,

But love thy law, my God.
