Montauk Division, from Long Island City to Rosedale, all in Queens County: Length of first track, 14.26 miles; second track, 13.79 miles; third track, 1.15 miles; fourth track, 1.15 miles; sidings, 28.69 miles; total, 59.04 miles.

Montauk Division, from Rockaway Junction to Springfield Junction, all in Queens County: Leased from The Jamaica and South Shore Rail Road Company: Length of first track, 3.10 miles; second track, 3.10 miles; sidings, 7.57 miles; total, 13.77 miles.

North Side Division, from Winfield to Little Neck, all in Queens County: Length of first track, 8.80 miles; second track, 7.13 miles; sidings, 3.38 miles; total, 19.31 miles.

Whitestone Branch, from Whitestone Junction to Whitestone Landing, all in Queens County: Length of first track, 4.83 miles; sidings, 2.95 miles; total, 7.78 miles.

Flushing Branch, from Great Neck Junction to Lawrence street, Flushing, being a portion of the old Central Railroad, all in Queens County: Length of first track, .19 of a mile; sidings, .68 of a mile; total, .87 of a mile.

Creedmoor Branch, from Floral Park to Creedmoor, all in Queens County: Length of first track, 1.47 miles; sidings, .61 of a mile; total, 2.08 miles.

Bushwick Branch, from Bushwick to Bushwick junction: Length of first track in Kings County, .97 of a mile; sidings in Kings County, 2.73; length of first track in Queens County, 1.46 miles; sidings in Queens County, .55 of a mile; total, 5.71 miles.

Far Rockaway Branch, from Hammels to Far Rockaway, all in Queens County, leased from The New York and Rockaway Beach Railway Company: Length of first track, 1.67 miles; second track, 1.67 miles; third track, 1.23 miles; sidings, .84 of a mile; total, 5.41 miles.

Far Rockaway Branch, from Hammels to Far Rockaway, all in Queens County, leased from The Jamaica and South Shore RailRoad Company: Length of first track, 1.01 miles; second track, .68 of a mile; third track, .50 of a mile; sidings, 2.63 miles ; total, 4.82 miles.

Far Rockaway Branch, from Hammels to Far Rockaway, all in Queens County: Length of first track, 1.91 miles; second track, 1.91 miles; third track, 1.91 miles; total, 5.73 miles.

Rockaway Beach Division, from Glendale Cut-off to Rockaway park, all in Queens County, leased from The New York and Rockaway Beach Railway Company: Length of first track, 10.67 miles; second track, 10.34 miles; third track, 3.35 miles; fourth track, 3.18 miles; sidings, 5.40 miles; total, 32.94 miles.

Atlantic Avenue Division, from Flatbush avenue to Jamaica, leased from the Nassau Electric Railroad Company: Length of first track in Kings, 6.05 miles; second track, 6.05 miles; third track, .86 of a mile; fourth track, .71 of a mile; sidings, 11.02 miles; first track in Queens, 3.56 miles; second track, 3.54 miles; third track, 1.13 miles; fourth track, 1.05 miles; sidings, 5.01 miles; total, 38.98 miles.

Manhattan Beach Division, from Fresh Pond Junction to Manhattan Beach: Length of first track in Kings, 9.82 miles; second track, 9.60 miles; sidings, 16.22 miles; first track in Queens, 1.48 miles; second track, 1.48 miles; sidings, .40 of a mile; total, 39 miles.

(Of this division 2.22 miles of first and second track, and .39 of a mile of sidings in Kings, and .08 of a mile of first and second track, and .40 of a mile of sidings in Queens are leased by The New York, Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Railway Company from The Canarsie Railroad Company.)

Manhattan Beach Division, from Manhattan Beach to Bay Ridge, all in Kings County: Length of first track, 4.68 miles; second track, 3.67 miles; sidings, 5.97 miles; total, 14.32 miles.

Manhattan Beach Division, Evergreen Branch, from Cooper Avenue Junction to Bushwich Branch: Length of first track in Kings, 1.38 miles; sidings, 2.50 miles; first track in Queens, .59 of a mile; sidings, .53 of a mile; total, five miles.

(Of the 1.38 miles of first track in Kings County, .37 of a mile

is leased from the Glendale and East River Railroad Company, and 1.01 miles for The New York, Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Railway Company, as is all of the first track in Queens County. Of the sidings, 2.09 miles in Kings County is leased from the Glendale and East River Railroad Company, and the remainder thereof from The New York, Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Railway Company. All the sidings in Queens County are leased from The New York, Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Railway Company.)

Manhattan Beach Division, from Vesta avenue, near Pitkin avenue, to Atlantic and Georgia avenues, East New York, not operated, leased from The New York, Brooklyn and Manhattan Beach Railway Company, which in turn leases it from the Canarsie Railroad Company, all in Kings County: Length of first track, .33 of a mile; second track, .25 of a mile; total, .58 of a mile.

Grand total of all tracks owned or controlled by The Long Island Railroad Company within the limits of the city of New York, 358.83 miles.

In 1854 the Company began operation of the Hicksville and Cold Spring Branch Railroad, a subsidiary line extending from Hicksville to Syosset, a distance of four miles.

In 1861 the Company commenced operation to Hunter's Point and abandoned for the time all operation within the city of Brooklyn.

In 1872 the Smithtown and Port Jefferson Railroad and the New York and Rockaway Railroad were put into operation by the Company.

In 1889 the Oyster Bay Extension Railroad, a subsidiary of this Company, extending from Locust Valley to Oyster Bay, a distance of 4.14 miles, was put in operation.
