In all fevers, inflammatory conditions, in the acute gastric upsets which occur with delicate children and phthisical patients, in all gastric diseases, and in those conditions of gastric catarrh which follow upon obstructions in the pulmonary circulation, whether due to disease in the heart or lungs, liquid food containing a sufficiency of carbo-hydrates in soluble form, as in Mellin's Food, is essential to life.

Any physician having an obstinate case of Tabes Mesenterica or Incipient Cholera Infantum, will receive from Dr. Warner & Co., 1228 Market Street, Phila., gratis, a sample of Ingluvin with full description. It has been reported as almost a specific. Further trial without cost is warranted and the doctor is asked to give his experience.

Ingluvin has been well known as a remedy in sickness during the period of gestation.

Messrs. John Wyeth & Brother's advertisement in this issue is worthy of the careful attention of our patrons. They give a complete list of their compressed hypodermic tablets, embracing in all some seventy-four different agents and combinations, the most complete we have yet seen. In it will be found almost every medicament used in hypodermic practice. This house was the first to devise this most valuable and convenient form of subcutaneous treatment. The well-known reputation of this house is sufficient guarantee for all the claims they make for them, as well as for all their preparations, so widely and favorably known. One of the most widely known physicians in the country, residing in Washington, says:

"The elegance of the formula, the small dose required and a potency go far to recommend the Tonic to the profession in that large class of neuroses so common among brain workers in this country."

A Baltimore physician, whose diploma dates from 1825, says:

"It furnishes a most powerful evidence of the vastly inreased power of medicament by combination and judicious pharmaceutic preparation. Your Tonic I find vastly more fective than any tonic I have ever used."

A well known physician of Chicago, in practice since 1859, says:

"It will be a revelation to most physicians. I have found peculiarly adapted to the mentally over-worked public school teachers, as well as to the worn out business man."

A Troy physician, of thirty-four years of active prac tice, says:

"I consider it the best Nerve Tonic I have ever used." A Philadelphia physician says:

"Your Tonic is a noble remedy. Some of my patients call it The Elixir of Life.' In Atonic Dyspepsia and as an aphrodisiac it cannot be excelled."

An Ohio physician says:

"I have been in the profession since 1841, and must frankly say have never been much inclined to run after strange gods, but this new manipulation and combination pleases me." Another Philadelphia physician says:

"When I write Freligh's Tonic' there's nothing more to trouble me, for I am sure what its results will be. In all states of nervous depression, especially when resulting from a debauch, it is the remedy without a peer, without a rival.' As a ston achic tonic it is incomparable. I have cured (not relieved,) a large number of cases of atonic dyspepsia and indigestion by its use.'

"

The above and many similar letters from the profession can be examined at our office. The Tonic is prescribed regularly by over 13,000 physicians in New England and the eastern Middle States. Single sample delivered to any physician, charges prepaid, on application. That each physician may be his own judge of its value, irrespective of the opinions of others, we make the following

laugh. The seeds are black, resembling a French
bean in size and shape, and have a sweet taste, a flavor
somewhat like opium, and a sickening odor. Small
doses of the pulverized seeds give rise to peculiar mani-
festations. The person laughs boisterously, sings,
dances and cuts up all kinds of fantastic capers. The
excitement continues about an hour, when the subject
falls into a deep sleep of an hour or more, and awakens
utterly unconscious of his late ridiculous behavior.-

In conformation of the previous letter must say Mrs.
Levis continues to improve under your Freligh's Tonic.
The use of strychnine in brain and spinal disease is
well authenticated, and your preparation, I am glad to
say, after an extensive practice of 30 years, far excels
all other known to the profession. I am employing it
in several cases with results the most gratifying.

Gentlemen:-The sample of "U. D. M." sent me gave entire satisfaction, effecting a radical cure in a case that had existed for years, and that had become so pronounced that the smallest size bougie obtainable could not possibly be introduced, though repeated efforts were made.

Yours truly,

CENTURY CHEMICAL CO.

Gentlemen:-Between April 1st and July 1st I have had twenty-two cases of urethral stricture reported cured from the use of "Urethral Desideratum Medicarum," directly in my practice. Other cases are now under treatment, but have not yet reported. In no case has "U. D.M." done any injury. In all cases it acts only on the morbid deposit of the stricture, and it always thoroughly accomplishes its purpose when properly used. It is the only remedy suitable to exhibit in the treatment of organic stricture, for the cure is complete as well as permanent. Yours, etc, etc.,
