RESOLUTION providing for establishing the boundary line between the towns of Charlestown and South Kingstown.

Resolved, That his excellency, the governor, be, and hereby is authorized to appoint four commissioners, two of whom shall be residents of Charlestown and two of South Kingstown, to ascertain, determine and mark by suitable monuments at the highways crossing said line, and at the seashore, and at such other points as they shall deem expedient, the dividing or boundary line between the towns of Charlestown and South Kingstown, with authority to employ a surveyor who shall become a member of said commission. Said commission shall report their doings to the next general assembly. The expense incident to the execution of the duties hereby impose to be paid equally by the said towns.

RESOLUTION of instruction to board of state house commissioners.

Whereas, By the report of the board of state house commissioners, made to the general assembly at its January session, 1897, it is stated that the amount of money necessary to complete and furnish the state house is very much larger than the sum authorized by the electors of the state for that purpose, and

Whereas, In said report said board invites "an expression of what will be your policy in relation to providing funds for completing and furnishing the building," therefore,

Resolved, That the board of state house commissioners be, and they hereby are directed to ascertain and report to the general assembly at its next session, what sum of money, in addition to the amount now under their control, will be required to finish the building with or without the dome and the tourelles, and without statuary or decorations in the most economical manner, and furnish the same so that it can be used by the general assembly and the several depart

ments of the state. Also what length of time will probably be necessary in which to complete said building for occupancy as above. Also what length of time will probably be required to complete the building and furnish it in accordance with the plans that have been approved by said board.

Resolved, That the board of state house commissioners be, and they hereby are directed to refrain from making any further contracts whatever for the completion or furnishing of the new state house, or for the grading or laying out of the grounds connected therewith until said proposed contract or contracts shall have been submitted to the general assembly and. approved thereby.

RESOLUTION authorizing the board of managers of the Rhode Island College of Agriculture and Mechanic 1897. Arts to expend for certain purposes any unexpended balance of an appropriation made at the January session, A. D. 1897, by a resolution entitled "Substitute A," making an appropriation for a new building at the Rhode Island College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts.

Resolved, That the board of managers of the Rhode Island College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts be, and the said board is hereby authorized to expend not to exceed the sum of five thousand dollars of any unexpended balance of an appropriation made at the January session, A. D. 1897, by a resolution entitled

Substitute A," making an appropriation for a new building at the Rhode Island College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, for the purpose of procuring furnishings for and grading around said new building, and the state auditor is hereby authorized to draw his order upon the general treasurer from time to time out of any money not otherwise appropriated upon vouchers approved by said board of managers.

RESOLUTION providing that the interest accruing on the proceeds of the state house construction loan bonds be used to pay the interest on said bonds.

Resolved, That the interest already accrued, and which may hereafter accrue, on the proceeds of the sale of the bonds of the state, known as the state house construction loan, issued under authority of Chapter 1201 of the Public Laws, passed at the January session, 1893, now on special deposit, be transferred to the general funds of the state, to be used by the general treasurer in part payment of the interest coupons on said bonds as they may become due.

RESOLUTION authorizing the camp ground commission to cause the wharf at the state camp ground at Quonset Point to be extended two hundred feet into the waters of Narragansett Bay.

Resolved, That the camp ground commission be, and they are hereby, authorized to cause an extension of two hundred feet in length to be added to the wharf at the state camp ground at Quonset Point into the waters of Narragansett Bay, the building of the same to be done under the direction and approval of the harbor commissioners of this state.

RESOLUTION appointing a joint special commission to look into and report upon the condition of the Newport County jail.

Resolved, that a joint special commission consisting of two members of the senate and three members of the house of representatives be, and they are hereby, appointed who shall investigate into the condition of the Newport County Jail, and report to this general assembly the result of their investigations at the present session.

RESOLUTION upon the petition of the Rhode Island
Woman Suffrage Association.

Resolved, That the prayer of said petition be and the same is hereby granted, and all petitions asking for the resubmission of the question of woman suffrage be taken from the files of the general assembly and be referred to the committee on special legislation of the senate and house of representives.

RESOLUTION permitting the commission on the revision of the constitution to use the state house in Providence.

Resolved, that the commission on the revision of the constitution of the state be, and they hereby are authorized to use the hall of the house of representatives, or the senate chamber in the state house at Providence for the purpose of giving public hearings on the question of the revision of the constitution, whenever said rooms are not in use by the general assembly or the committees thereof.

a certain newspaper volume now in the state's 1897.

Resolved, That the secretary of state is hereby authorized to return volume 7 of the Pawtuxet Valley Daily Times to the publishers of said newspaper.

Resolved, That Charles Warren Lippitt of Providence be, and he is hereby, appointed a member on the John Waterman Memorial Commission.

RESOLUTION making an appropriation for the purpose of having the state properly represented at the ceremonies of the dedication of the Grant Tomb, in New York, April 27, 1897.

Resolved, That the sum of one thousand dollars be, and the same is hereby appropriated, to be placed at the order of the governor to enable the state to be properly represented, if in the discretion of the governor it is desirable to take such action, at the "Ceremonies of the dedication of the Grant Tomb, in New York, April 27, 1897"; and the state auditor is hereby directed to draw his order on the general treasurer for said sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, from time to time, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, upon the presentation of properly authenticated vouchers approved by the governor.

RESOLUTION making an appropriation for the purpose of having the state properly represented at the Tennessee Centennial and Industrial Exposition.

Resolved, That the sum of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be, and the same is hereby, appropriated for the purpose of making a suitable and proper industrial, educational and colonial exhibit at the Tennessee Centennial and Industrial Exposition, to be held in Nashville in 1897.
