Last month we published the report of Dr. E. Rosenthal, of Philadelphia, where 72 cases of Diphtheria were treated with Antitoxin (Mulford Co's) without a singledeath. By permission we present report of

Dr. C. F. Bennett,
Waterloo, Ia.

City of Waterloo, la., Sept. 21, 1895.
Messrs. H. K. MULFORD COMPANY, Gentlemen:-
Recently I procured a quantity of your Antitoxin, to
provide our local physicians, to be used in our Diphtheria epi-
demic. Without exception these physicians now commend its use, and
this too in spite of the fact they were somewhat skeptical at first of its
value. It is also a fact that while the Antitoxin was resorted to as a last
resource (after ordinary measures had been found useless) the wonderful re-
sults made converts of us all, and will now be used in every case the moment
the diphtheritic nature of the case is ascertained.

The Mulford product gave the best resu ts and was found thoroughly reli-
able, in no case was there the slightest ill effects from the treatment and the
progress of the disease was invariably stopped.

In those cases only where the system had become so charged with the
poison that elimination was no longer possible, did death ensue.

Our epidemic numbered seventy cases with four deaths, and I
am confident, had Artitoxin been used earlier, not over one
of the four would have died. I am very truly yours,
C. F. BENNETT, M.D,

Health Officer.

THE AUTO-STERILIZING THERMOMETER CASE.

Sterilizes your clinical thermometer while you are carrying it in your pocket and thus prevents the transmission of disease by that instrument. Government tests of the Auto-Sterilizing Thermometer Case, made under the direction of the Surgeon General of the U. S. Army, by Dr. Walter Reed, an eminent bacteriologist and curator of the Army Medical Museum, show that

It Never Fails to Destroy Bacteria and Ptomanes.

The thermometer rests in a receptacle like the hard rubber cases usu ally sold with thermometers, except that at the lower end of the case is attached an extra hard rubber chamber one-half inch in depth, which contains a small pledget of absorbent cotton soaked with the Sterilizing Fluid (Glyceraldehyde). The fluid being very volatile, the vapor rises to the interior of the case proper through openings provided in the bottom of the case, and keeps the thermometer in a state of constant sterilization without other attention than recharging once a week with a few drops of Glyceraldehyde.

For sale by Surgical Instrument Dealers and Druggists, or sent by mail on receipt of price.

Auto-Sterilizing Thermometer Case and sample vial of Glyceraldehyde $1.00.

With our Magnifying and Self-Registering Clinical Thermometer, $2.
Send for descriptive circular and copy of government tests.
