About the author (2025)

Jef Cummings was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and was a teen when the Beatles hit the scene. He had always had a great love of music of many kinds but by the time he was twenty tended to favour the heavier, more progressive rock styles. After travelling and working overseas for a few years he returned to Australia and drifted to Brisbane where, at thirty, he attended university as a mature age student, graduating with a degree in biology. While at uni, he became a sound mixer for a local covers band and managed to survive the experience. He obtained a position with the Queensland state government, married and helped raise two children. After thirty years as a public servant, he retired and began to write a 'rock history', which he could never find in bookstores. Most recently, he achieved a lifelong dream by occasionally singing with the band at his local club.
