About the author (2006)

Jamie Durie OAM is a horticulturalist, award-winning landscape designer, product designer, and the author of nine bestselling books, including Patio, The Outdoor Room, Outdoor Kids, and 100 Gardens. He founded The Outdoor Room magazine and has hosted more than fifty television shows worldwide, including Top Design, and made regular appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show. He is also the creator of The Outdoor Room series, which airs in more than twenty countries.Jamie has been creating gardens since 1998, and has thirty-three international design awards to his credit. These include gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show and numerous other garden shows across the Asia Pacific region, as well as a Centenary Medal and Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to the community and the environment. He is the founder and principal designer of Durie Design, with offices in Sydney and Los Angeles, and his work spans thirteen countries.When he's not working, you'll find Jamie in his favorite place... the garden.
