Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

User Review  - Anaximander Arkady - Goodreads

Checking out what is currently going on in SF. As far as this anthology goes, not so much. One fantastic story: Island by Peter Watts (which can be found elsewhere), a Bruce Sterling story that takes ... Read full review

One of the best Sci-Fi Space Opera genre anthologies that I have read in a long time! Read full review

What Jamie Beu said. Also, I always get Robert Charles Wilson mixed up with Robert Anton Wilson. Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

User Review  - Cale - Goodreads

You always get a variety of quality in anthologies. I picked this up solely for the Cory Doctorow and John scalzi stories. Scalzi's was very good, Doctorow's was okay, and the rest varied from ... Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

I'm still not precisely sure what defines space opera, I just like the phrase, and this short story collection caught my eye at our local bookstore for the selection of authors, most of whom I'd ... Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

User Review  - Joy - Goodreads

The idea of machine minds has permeated the 'new' space opera quite thoroughly. A side effect is that it is no longer Westerns In Space (if it ever really was) and is more of its own thing. It does what all good science fiction does: explore being human, the requirements and the ramifications. Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera (The New Space Opera #1)

User Review  - William Grasso - Goodreads

This was another excellent collection from Mr. Dozois. Not every story will agree with every reader, but there is enough here to keep most people reading cover to cover, assuming they like the "Space Opera" style of Sci-Fi. An excellent anthology. Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera (The New Space Opera #1)

User Review  - Martin Mcgoey - Goodreads

Some very hard sci-fi in this collection. Several stories were difficult for me to get through since I'm relatively new to the genre and have noticed that sci-fi authors tend to focus more on tech-y ... Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

User Review  - B. Rule - Goodreads

This review is just for the John C. Wright story "The Far End of History" but I don't know how to specify a short story that doesn't have a separate record in goodreads' database. The story is set in ... Read full review

Review: The New Space Opera 2: All-new stories of science fiction adventure (The New Space Opera #2)

User Review - Goodreads

Just finished the first story in this anthology -- it wasn't *bad*, but also didn't do much for me & I wouldn't call it a space opera, at least, not in the sense that I like... We'll see how the other stories are. I would give this first story (Utriusque Cosmi by Robert Charles Wilson) 3 stars.
