Oh dear...I wanted to love this book, but didn't. How many times can you talk about how awful editing your writing is? Or how awful the first draft is bound to be? The best parts were not about the process of writing, but about her life. Wish there was more of that. Read full review

About the author (1995)

Anne Lamott lives with her son, Sam, in northern California. She is the author of five books, including the novels Hard Laughter, Rosie, Joe Jones, and All New People. Her last book, Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year, was published by Pantheon in 1993.
